At the end of the extraordinary meeting of Council of the University of Buea 28 May 2020, members, led by the Council Chair, Professor Edward Ako, visited the newly-constructed building that would host the Advanced School of Translators and Interpreters (ASTI) and the Pan African University Institute of Governance, Humanities and Social Sciences’ Translation, Interpreting, Transborder Languages and Intercultural Communication Programmes (PAUTRAIN).

The building is a befitting three-wing structure, with a top floor, ground and underground floors, fully funded by the Government of Cameroon.

It comprises translation/interpretation teaching and practice laboratories, research laboratories, a specialised resource centre and library, classrooms, workshops and offices for staff.
